Mr. Garza has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal
Arts, receiving his degree from Austin College, Sherman, Texas in 1988. He is a Certified Mediator and has more than 10 years experience with the Texas Department of Mental Health & Mental Retardation Services primarily as a Case Manager.
Daniel is a Special Education Advocate and also provides significant
case-management services in the areas of Guardianship, Probate, Child Protective Services, and other Civil proceedings. He
is particularly skilled in working with families and persons with mental impairments who find themselves involved in the Criminal
Justice System. In his role as Legal Assistant Daniel also works in areas of Civil Litigation that require important client
trust as well as an enormous amount of sensitivity. Daniel is also fluent in Spanish, which allows us to serve members
of the Hispanic Community.
Daniel is a member of the Advisory Board of Directors at the
Austin Area Mental Health Consumers, Inc., and is a Volunteer Mediator at the Dispute Resolution Center here in Austin, Texas. While working at the Bluebonnet Trails Mental Health & Mental Retardation
Community Center Daniel was part of a team that obtained a grant to provide Dual Diagnosis Treatment for clients with severe,
persistent mental illness, and co-occurring alcohol and drug dependence issues.
Daniel and his wife attend Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in East Austin. He makes sure our office is always provided with excellent background
music, has a great sense of humor as well as an unmatched sense of compassion.
