These are the areas of law in which we excel due to our extensive experience and unique expertise.

In addition to the practice areas below, we always have a Notary Public or two on hand.

Education Law & Advocacy

For both parents and educators, there has always been a strong concern with equality in education. This  concern leads to efforts to assure that each child, no matter where he or she is situated, receives a free and appropriate education (FAPE).

Laws such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 establish processes for evaluating a child's needs and for providing an individualized education program (IEP) and/or "504" plans.

Our attorneys and advocates are among the most experienced professionals in this area in the state. We are more than prepared to keep your child's education on the right track.

For all education-related matters, please review the Cirkiel & Associates    Educational Questionnaire below:

Disability Law & Benefits

Disability law is largely regulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This law prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in employment, housing, education, and access to public services. If you think you have been discriminated against because of a disability, we have the know how to fight for you!

A severe physical or mental condition may qualify you for either public or private disability benefits. No matter how old you are, if you have a disability that prevents you from working, you may be able to claim short or long-term benefits from private insurance or through the Social Security Administration.

Estate Planning

This is often a conversation few people want to have but everyone needs to have. Forming a plan for clearly communicating your wishes at the end of your life can save loved ones time, money and loads of stress.

We prepare Wills, Power of Attorneys, Trusts, Advanced Directives (Living Wills), HIPAA release forms and other documents tailored to meet the needs of you and your family.

For all estate-planning matters, please review the Cirkiel & Associates    Will Package Questionnaire below:

Probate & Guardianships

Many think that probate applies only if you have a will. Wrong! Your estate will be probated whether or not you have a will; this is the mechanism by which your estate is administered through the legal system after you die.

A guardianship is a legal relationship created when a person named in a will or assigned by the court to take care of minor children or incapacitated adults.

To become a guardian, you agree to take full responsibility for a ward's personal and financial well being. Our staff can help you determine when a guardianship is warranted and what will be required.

Continuing Education

Professional continuing education is a learning activity characterized by the issuance of a continuing education units (CEU) for the purpose of documenting attendance at a designated seminar or course of instruction.

Licensing bodies in a number of fields (such as social work) impose CEU requirements on members who hold licenses to practice within a particular profession. These requirements are intended to encourage professionals to expand their foundations of knowledge and stay up-to-date on new developments.

We develop and present professionally relavant topics from the practice areas listed here to help individuals grow — whether it's exploring an interest, developing skills, shifting careers or simply meeting licensing requirments.

Mediation Services

Mediation can be used to help parties smooth out their differences and reach agreements on various points of contention while saving time and costs associated with trial.

Real Estate Law

These laws cover your rights to possess, use, and enjoy land and the permanent manmade additions attached to it. It includes the capacity to hold interests in real property, permissible interests in real property, relations between owners, relations between owners and the community, landlord and tenant relations, the transfer of interests in real property, and real property financing, including deeds and mortgages.

Real estate transactions, such as purchases, sales, and leases, are governed by a wide body of federal and state law. Having a knowledgeable attorney in your corner will help you avoid unseen pitfalls and make the overall experience go more smoothly.
